WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Hood College volleyball team (5-16, 0-7
CAC) came up on the short end of a 3-0 Capital Athletic Conference
decision (25-14, 25-9, 25-15) to the Gallaudet University Bison
(18-9, 5-2 CAC) Wednesday evening at the Field House.
Junior Kristan Hawkins paced the Blazer attack with five kills
while classmate Kristina Straub registered a pair to go along with
four digs. Freshman Brittany Tribett set up seven kills and posted
a team-high nine digs on the night. Senior Leah Garland collected
five digs, one kill and three assists while freshman Brittany
Lethbridge and sophomore Laura Saad also put down one kill apiece.
Senior Megan Heidel finished with three kills and a block. Junior
Chelsea Weaver registered eight digs, giving her 305 for the
season. That total ranks fifth on Hood's all-time single-season
chart.
Hood next travels to the College of Notre Dame (Md.) Thursday
for a nonconference match at 7 p.m.
