YORK, Pa.--Freshman Brittany Tribett of the Hood College
volleyball team (5-19, 0-8 CAC) set up 24 Blazer kills and
registered 12 digs in a 3-0 Capital Athletic Conference setback
(25-19, 25-14, 27-25) to the York College (Pa.) Spartans (17-11,
5-3 CAC) Wednesday evening.
Not only did Tribett notch her sixth double-double of the
season, but she also recorded 20-plus assists for the fourth time
this fall.
Junior Chelsea Weaver spearheaded the defense with 14 digs and
chipped in a kill and an ace.
Classmate Kristina Straub put down a team-best seven kills and
hit .300 to go along with two solo blocks.
Senior Ashley Burns tallied six kills and 10 digs while Kristan
Hawkins and Brittany Lethbridge chipped in five kills apiece.
Hawkins' five kills came on eight attempts for a sparkling .625
hitting percentage.
Senior Leah Garland contributed four kills and six digs.
Hood wraps up the 2009 campaign Friday evening when the Blazers
host Goucher College on Senior Night at 7 p.m. in Gambrill Gym. The
Blazers will recognize Ashley Burns and Leah Garland before the
match.
