TOWSON, Md.--The Hood College volleyball team (1-13) suffered a
3-0 defeat (25-9, 25-16, 25-22) at the hands of the Goucher College
Gophers (11-9) Wednesday evening in nonconference action.
Junior Kristina Straub smacked three kills and tallied five digs
while classmate Kristan Hawkins and freshman Brittany Tribett
chipped in two kills apiece. Tribett also registered five assists
and collected eight digs. Senior Leah Garland led the defense with
11 digs while junior Chelsea Weaver and senior Ashley Burns each
totaled 10 digs.
The Blazers next travel to Trinity University (D.C.) Saturday
for a quad match with the host Tigers, Shenandoah University and
Penn State Harrisburg. Hood's first match of the day is slated for
11 a.m.
