Box Score FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team (1-7, 0-4
CAC) came up on the short end of a 4-0 Capital Athletic Conference
decision to the visiting Stevenson University Mustangs (5-6, 1-3
CAC) on a rainy Monday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.
The Mustangs scored a pair of goals in each half en route to
capturing their first league win of the season. Katelyn Monacheh
scored a pair of goals while Brittany Martin had a goal and three
assists. Jennifer Sauers added SU's fourth tally, her first of the
season.
Hood attempted four shots on target, including two by first-year
Nicole Killmer and one apiece by sophomores Megan Cahill and Miriah Stone. Starting keeper Kara Zimmerman rejected three and one was
blocked by Natalie Dipaolo.
Senior Anne Marie Hantman posted five saves for the Blazers
while sophomore Michelle Buhrman came up with a pair of defensive
saves.
Hood continues CAC play Saturday with a trip to St. Mary's
College (Md.). The Blazers and Seahawks square off at 2:45 p.m.
