FROSTBURG, Md.--The Frostburg State University Bobcats (1-3, 1-0 CAC) downed the Hood College field hockey team (0-3, 0-1 CAC) by a count of 5-0 Wednesday evening in the Capital Athletic Conference opener for both schools.

FSU's Lindsey Frost netted a hat trick while Chelsea Smith and Breanne Russell added single tallies as the Bobcats won their first league contest as members of the CAC.

Senior keeper Anne Marie Hantman rejected nine Bobcat shots in defeat as the Blazers were outshot, 22-5. Sophomore Michelle Buhrman connected on Hood's lone shot on goal in the 10th minute, but it was stopped by FSU netminder Maggie Edwards.

Hood returns home to host CAC foe University of Mary Washington Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
