Box Score HARRISBURG, Pa.--The Hood College volleyball team (7-9) toppled the Penn State Harrisburg Nittany Lions (6-15) Monday evening in three sets, 28-26, 25-17, 25-21, in a nonconference match.
With the win, the Blazers equaled their win total from the 2010 season and still have eight regular season matches remaining.
Hood racked up 32 kills as eight different Blazers contributed to the offensive attack. Brittany Lethbridge led the way with seven kills while Hayley Rogers finished with six and Ashley Park-Brouse and Alyssa Eshleman registered five apiece.
Amy Hagerdon and Allie Donoghue split time at setter and combined for 30 assists. Donoghue notched a season-high 14 assists in addition to collecting three kills while Hagerdon chalked up another double-double with 16 assists and a team-high 15 digs. Kaitlyn Hays chipped in with four digs, an ace and a kill while Morgan Huffer had three digs and one kill and Theresa Schwarzwalder dug out five balls in the victory.
The Blazers return to Gambrill Gymnasium Wednesday to host the first of five straight home matches. Hood entertains Capital Athletic Conference foe Marymount University at 7 p.m.
