TOWSON, Md.--The Goucher College women's soccer team (6-5) scored the only goal of the contest in the 87th minute in a 1-0 defeat over the Hood College Blazers (2-12) Wednesday evening in nonconference action.

The Blazers played the Gophers even for 86 minutes until Goucher's Shay Kettner sent a through ball into the box and Sherlanda Buskey booted her shot past a diving Kirsten Cacciola for what would prove to be the game-winner.

Hood fired off eight shots on the day, including six on target, but Regan Foy corralled them all for the shutout. Stevey Markovich tallied a pair of shots on goal while Jennifer Fischer, Samantha Norris, Caroline Allen and Kristen Byers had one apiece for Hood.

Cacciola finished with nine stops, four in the first half and five in the second.

The Blazers host their final regular season home game of the season Saturday against Wesley College at 1 p.m. Hood will also recognize its senior class prior to the game.
