FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College volleyball team (9-11) hit a season-high .360 in a convincing 3-0 sweep over Valley Forge Christian College (0-20) Monday evening in a nonconference match.

The Blazers cruised to a 25-11, 25-15, 25-12 triumph over the Patriots, their second sweep over VFCC this season.

Holding a 6-3 lead in the first set, the Blazers outscored the Patriots 7-2 over the next few exchanges to go up 13-5, forcing Valley Forge to call timeout. Morgan Huffer served up two aces in the run. Hood clamped down on the Patriots the rest of the way collecting 14 kills on 22 attempts with only four errors.

The Patriots enjoyed an early lead in set number two, capturing the first four points. An ace by Keesha Fields gave Hood its first lead of the set at 9-8 and the Blazers never trailed again in the stanza. Fields finished with four aces in the match.

The Blazers owned the third set as well as six different players registered at least one kill in the frame.

Hayley Rogers led all attackers with 10 kills and a sparkling .562 hitting percentage while Amy Hagerdon amassed 22 assists and put down nine kills on 12 attempts for a stellar .750 percentage. Hagerdon also served three aces, giving her 58 for the season; that mark matches Ashley Cook's 10th place effort from the 2004 campaign on Hood's single season chart.

Huffer wore the libero jersey in tonight's match and finished with nine digs and two aces. Allie Donoghue contributed nine assists and three kills while Kaitlyn Hays and Anela Alic chipped in with two kills apiece. Ashley Park-Brouse, Brittany Lethbridge and Alyssa Eshleman all tallied four kills.

The Blazers get right back to action Tuesday hosting Stevenson University in a Capital Athletic Conference tilt at 7 p.m.
