Box Score FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team (3-11) lost to the Wilson College Phoenix (6-6) by a count of 4-2 Friday afternoon in nonconference action at Thomas Athletic Field.
Hood scored both of its goals in the second half off penalty corners. Trailing 3-0, Michelle Buhrman tallied her third goal of the fall to get the Blazers on the board in the 57th minute. Miriah Stone and Nicole Killmer set up the corner. That same trio was a productive combination once again in the 68th minute to pull the Blazers within two (4-2). This time is was Killmer who knocked home the score, her first of the season, off crosses from Stone and Buhrman.
Wilson, which led 1-0 at halftime, got a pair of goals from Megan Schneck and single tallies from Maggie Sipps and Chelsey Smenkowski.
Ashley Stennett kicked out seven shots for the Blazers while Brandy Holtzapple turned away six attempts for the Phoenix.
Hood wraps up the regular season Tuesday when the Blazers entertain the York College (Pa.) Spartans in a Capital Athletic Conference matchup at 4 p.m.
