FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team (3-12, 0-7 CAC) ended the 2011 season with a 5-0 Capital Athletic Conference defeat at the hands of the York College (Pa.) Spartans (10-8, 4-3 CAC) Tuesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Spartans scored twice in the first half and tacked on three goals in the second half. Sandee Reich tallied a pair of goals, her 14th and 15th of the season, while Brittany Simmons, Madi Wilt and Leah Hunsinger added scores as well.

Chelsea Young, Michelle Buhrman and Nicole Killmer attempted Hood's five shots on the afternoon while Buhrman also racked up her CAC-best 12th defensive save.

Ashley Stennett kicked out 12 Spartan shots on the day while York's Alanna Curtis made two saves en route to the shutout.
