Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Catholic University Cardinals (10-6) had a strong second half, scoring five times, in a 6-0 nonconference win over the Hood College women's soccer team (4-14) Tuesday afternoon.
Playing in her final collegiate game, Kirsten Cacciola had a busy afternoon, making a career-high 19 saves in the net. The Cardinals got on the board in the ninth minute and led 1-0 at halftime. Catholic notched back-to-back scores 15 seconds apart in the 53rd minute by Courtney Orgill and Kate Masson. Orgill struck again in the 63rd minute and Catholic capped the scoring with a pair of goals in the final six minutes.
Stevey Markovich booted Hood's three shots on goal on the day but Christina Cassidy and Gabby Sena combined on the shutout.
Cacciola finished her Blazer career with 251 career saves, fifth-best all-time at Hood.
