WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Hood College volleyball team (6-9) came up on the short end of a 3-0 nonconference decision to the Catholic University Cardinals (15-2) Thursday evening, falling 25-11, 25-20, 25-21.

Alyssa Eshleman smacked nine of Hood's 17 kills on the night in addition to posting a team-high 12 digs. Amy Hagerdon collected 16 assists, eight digs, a pair of aces and a solo block while Hayley Rogers finished with three kills and Ashley Park-Brouse notched a pair.

Catholic remained undefeated at home (7-0) and upped its nonconference record on the season to 13-1.

The Blazers are off this weekend but hit the road again Monday for another nonleague matchup at Penn State Harrisburg at 7 p.m.
