Box Score YORK, Pa.--The Hood College volleyball team (3-3, 0-1 CAC) had its hopes of extending its three-match winning streak dashed by the York College (Pa.) Spartans (6-3, 1-1 CAC), the Blazers' first Capital Athletic Conference opponent of the season, Wednesday night.
The Spartans picked up their first conference win of the season with a 25-10, 28-26, 25-18 sweep.
Sophomore Amy Hagerdon notched her second double-double of the season with 17 assists and 11 digs while junior Alyssa Eshleman posted a match-high 16 digs to go along with a team-high seven kills and four aces. Sophomore Ashley Whaley and junior Brittany Lethbridge smacked four kills apiece while newcomers Keesha Fields and Hayley Rogers put down three kills each. Rogers also contributed a pair of blocks in the losing cause.
Jessica Moyer paced the Spartan attack with 10 kills while Cortni Rentzel set up 39 of York's 47 kills on the night.
The Blazers look to regain their winning ways Friday evening at Gambrill Gymnasium against the Mt. Aloysius College Mounties at 7 p.m.
