FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team (1-8, 0-3 CAC) suffered a narrow 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference defeat to the York College (Pa.) Spartans (3-6, 3-0 CAC) Wednesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

After a scoreless first half during which the Spartans outshot the Blazers, 14-1, Hood surrendered the lone goal of the afternoon in the 68th minute. Jordan Snook notched her third goal of the season off an assist from Lauren Ward, which proved to be the game-winner.

Stevey Markovich attemped two shots on target while Amanda Hutzell also had a try at the game-tying score but all three were corraled by Sarah Spanarkel.

Hood's Kirsten Cacciola turned aside a career-high 14 shots in the tough-luck loss.

The Blazers next travel to CAC foe Stevenson University Saturday for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
