Box Score BALTIMORE, Md.--Junior Alyssa Eshleman of the Hood College volleyball team (1-2) posted a match-high nine kills in a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-10) nonconference victory over the Notre Dame University of Maryland Gators Thursday evening.
Eshleman also tallied eight digs and finished with an outstanding .538 hitting percentage to lead the Blazer charge. Sophomore Amy Hagerdon switched roles from her libero assignment to serve as the Blazers' setter in this match. She set up 25 Blazer kills and helped Hood boast a .351 team hitting percentage. Hagerdon also collected eight aces as the Blazers registered 20 aces collectively in the match.
Junior Brittany Lethbridge had a remarkable showing as well, smacking eight kills on 11 attempts with only one error for a sparkling .636 percentage. Sophomore Ashley Whaley finished with six kills, while sophomore Anela Alic and newcomer Hayley Rogers chipped in two kills apiece. Hagerdon and first-years Ashley Park-Brouse and Keesha Fields tallied one kill each while classmate Theresa Schwarzwalder paced the defense with nine digs.
Hood returns home Saturday to host a nonconference tri-match featuring McDaniel College and Chatham University beginning at 10 a.m. at Gambrill Gymnasium.
