Box Score PHOENIXVILLE, Pa.--The Hood College volleyball team (6-7) defeated the Valley Forge Christian College Patriots (2-15) for the second time this season by scores of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-15 Monday evening in nonconference action.
Despite playing without the services of several starters, the Blazers managed to make quick work of the Patriots and ended a modest two-match losing skid in the process. Hood picked up 18 aces on the night in addition to 28 kills and seven solo blocks.
Brittany Lethbridge spearheaded the Blazer attack once again with a team-high 10 kills and aced the Patriots five times. Ashley Park-Brouse collected seven kills, eight digs, four aces and four blocks while Morgan Huffer led the defensive effort with 10 digs, a season-high.
Keesha Fields and Rebecca Rieser each put down four kills apiece while Kathryn Jones had a pair and Allie Donoghue chipped in one. Jones also set 22 Hood kills, a season-high for her as well.
The Blazers return to BB&T Arena Wednesday to entertain Commonwealth Conference opponent Widener University at 7 p.m.
