Blazers Defeated by Arcadia, 4-0

Box Score

GLENSIDE, Pa.—The Hood College women's soccer team (2-11, 0-5 Commonwealth) was defeated by Arcadia University (8-4-3, 2-2-1 Commonwealth) 4-0 in a tough road conference matchup. The Blazers were outmatched most of the day and had little answers for the Arcadia attack.

The Blazers remained valiant in the first half, however they were unable to penetrate the Knights and the pressure of Arcadia paid off with a goal in the 43rd minute. Maura Quigley headed home a ball from Alex Stoner that was a demoralizing goal against the Blazers going into halftime.

The Knights made it a two goal lead just 25 seconds into the second half when CJ McDonnell took it herself and scored to put Hood in a 2-0 hole. Jessie Herbert tried to get Hood back in it with a shot at Arcadia goalkeeper Veronica Willig, but she turned it away. Arcadia's Kim Canfield then put the game on ice as she scored back to back goals in the 86th and 88th minute.

The Blazers are still looking for their first victory in conference play, while Arcadia picked up its second of the season.

Hood returns to action this Thursday when they take on Lebanon Valley College in Commonwealth conference action. The game will begin at 4 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
