FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College volleyball team (6-18, 0-8 Commonwealth) came up short against the visiting Messiah College Falcons (20-7, 7-1 Commonwealth), falling 3-0 (7-25, 12-25, 9-25) Tuesday evening in a Commonwealth Conference match at BB&T Arena.

Amy Hagerdon tallied a team-best five kills, two aces and 11 digs while Kathryn Jones chipped in nine assists and six digs. Alyssa Eshleman and Brittany Lethbridge had two kills apiece and Rebecca Rieser and Ashley Park-Brouse had one each.

Lauren Rees collected 12 of Messiah's 34 kills and eight other Falcons contributed at least one kill. The Falcons, who are in second place in the Commonwealth standings, hit .284 and posted seven team blocks and 11 aces.

The Blazers wrap up the 2012 season Thursday evening against Lebanon Valley College at 7 p.m. at BB&T Arena and will recognize seniors Alyssa Eshleman and Brittany Lethbridge prior to the match.
