Box Score CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.--The Hood College field hockey team (2-18) dropped a 6-0 nonconference decision to the Wilson College Phoenix (11-6) Friday afternoon in the Blazers' season finale.
The Phoenix recorded three goals in each half despite a combined 11 saves by Hood's goalkeeping tandem. Liz Decembrino made the start and collected seven saves while Ying Van Schaik relieved Decembrino in the 50th minute and tallied four saves.
Hood's Anna Kate Smith (2), Morgan Cole (2) and Michelle Buhrman (1) struck Hood's five shots in the contest but two were off target and three were saved by Wilson's Brandy Holtzapple. The Phoenix were also awarded 10 corners to Hood's three.
The Blazers bid farewell to three seniors, forward Megan Cahill, midfielder Miriah Stone and defender Michelle Buhrman, all of whom were four-year starters. Cahill ends her career in third place on Hood's career goal chart with 14 and is also second in assists with 10 and third in total points with 38. Buhrman tallied eight goals and five assists for 21 points, which ranks her eighth all-time. Stone contributed five goals and six assists for 16 points; her six assists are the sixth-highest total in program history.
