WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.--The Hood College men's swim team (3-1, 1-1
MAC) suffered its first setback of the season at Middle Atlantic
Conferences rival Lycoming College (1-1, 1-1 MAC), 144-106,
Saturday afternoon.
Hood won six events in the dual meet including a pair of
individual wins by Alex Bodine and Michael Curry. Bodine won the
100 back (55.64) and the 200 back (2:06.86) while Curry captured
the 500 free (5:18.72) and the 200 free (1:52.01). Andrew Bodine
earned first place points in the 200 IM (2:13.30) and the 200 free
relay squad of Daniel Lee, Jonathan Bullard-Sisken, Lucas Netter
and Connor Eliff earned 11 points with a time of 1:39.35.
Andrew Bodine was also the runner-up in the 100 breast (1:06.74)
and third in the 200 breast (2:32.91). Drake Halpern earned
second-place points in the 200 IM (2:51.92).
Lee (11:32.67) and Eliff (11:44.39) posted season-bests in the
1000 free as did Nate Leighton in the 200 free (2:09.11),
Bullard-Sisken in the 100 back (1:00.73) and 200 back (2:10.52) and
Netter in the 200 fly (2:34.07). Eliff also had a season-best in
the 200 breast (2:41.87).
Hood's next dual meet is slated for Wednesday against MAC foe
Elizabethtown College. The meet was originally scheduled to take
place at Hood's Huntsinger Aquatics Center, but unfortunately due
to construction delays relating to the enhancements to the aquatics
center, the meet will be contested at Elizabethtown at 6 p.m.
