Box Score 2 FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College volleyball team (4-4) split a pair of matches at its own tri-match, falling to the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the opener (3-0) before sweeping Penn State-Mont Alto, 3-0, in the second match.
The Wolves (10-3) swept the opener by scores of 25-10, 25-23 and 25-14. Amy Hagerdon and Ashley Park-Brouse combined for half of Hood's 16 kills against the UM-Dearborn Wolves, while Alyssa Eshleman set up 14 Hood kills. Hagerdon also led the defense with 10 digs and served three aces. Kathryn Jones finished with three kills, Rebecca Rieser and Brittany Lethbridge both had a pair and Keesha Fields chipped in one.
In the second match against the Nittany Lions (0-3), Hagerdon contributed a season-high 13 kills to along with three more aces and eight digs. Fields tallied 14 digs, a season-high, and had three assists. Eshleman racked up 21 more assists and had nine digs while Park-Brouse put down seven kills and aces the Nittany Lions twice. Addie Roop collected five aces to bring her team-best total to 25.
Michigan-Dearborn swept the Nittany Lions in the middle match, 25-6, 25-13, 25-9.
Hood hits the road next week for a nonconference matchup at Susquehanna University Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and a rematch with Penn-State Mont Alto Friday at 7 p.m.
