Billeter Nets First Collegiate Goal at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md.--First-year Alysa Billeter of the Hood College field hockey team (1-4) scored the first goal of her collegiate career Thursday evening in a 3-1 setback at Frostburg State University (3-5) in nonconference action.

After trailing 2-0 at halftime, Billeter's score cut the deficit in half and got the Blazers on the board in the 43rd minute. Teammate Megan Cole was credited with the assist, her second in as many games.

FSU's Alli Elliott had a hand in all three Bobcat scores as she registered two goals and assisted on a third. Ying Van Schaik stopped 13 shots in the cage for the Blazers, while Maggie Edwards turned aside three Blazer attempts off the sticks of Cole, Anna Kate Smith and Michelle Buhrman. Buhrman also contributed a pair of defensive saves.

Hood travels to Goucher College Monday for a nonconference matchup with the Gophers undr the lights at 7 p.m.
