Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.--The Hood College field hockey team (1-6, 0-1 Commonwealth) fell to the No. 16 Elizabethtown College Blue Jays (7-3, 1-1 Commonwealth) by a count of 7-0 in Hood's first-ever Commonwealth Conference contest Saturday afternoon.
Ying Van Schaik stopped a season-high 16 shots in the cage, including a penalty stroke in the final minute of the first half, and Miriah Stone was credited with a defensive save in the valiant defensive effort by the Blazers against one of the top teams in the Commonwealth. Jamie Wingo and Morgan Cole registered Hood's two shots on the day.
Seven different players scored for the Blue Jays, who led 4-0 at halftime. A trio of Elizabethtown goalkeepers combined on the shutout.
Hood hits the road again Tuesday for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth contest against Stevenson University.
