Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa.--The Hood College volleyball team (1-2, 0-1 Commonwealth) fell just short in its Commonwealth Conference debut Wednesday night at Arcadia University, falling 3-1 (26-28, 25-19, 18-25, 21-25) to the Knights (1-1, 1-0 Commonwealth) at Alumni Gym.
Amy Hagerdon put down a team-high nine kills for the Blazers in addition to collecting a team-best 17 digs. Rebecca Rieser tallied six kills while Ashley Park-Brouse and Kathryn Jones registered five apiece. Addie Roop served up five aces and had 11 digs while Alyssa Eshleman set up 29 of Hood's 38 kills and had nine digs and four kills. Brittany Lethbridge finished with four kills, four aces and nine digs on the night.
The Knights were led by Taylor Hoover who notched a double-double of 13 kills and 14 digs. Arcadia also recorded nine total blocks and put down 43 kills in the victory.
Hood returns home Thursday evening to host the Penn State University-Harrisburg Nittany Lions in a nonconference match at 7 p.m. at BB&T Arena.
