Box Score

FREDERICK, Md. - In the make-up of Monday's washed out game, the Hood College women's soccer team lost to the Messiah College Falcons 3-0, in a Commonwealth Conference matchup played throughout a steady downpour.

The Blazers dropped to 0-2 in the conference, and the Falcons improved to 2-0.

Nikki Elsaesser scored twice for the two-time defending national champions, opening up the scoring in the 15th minute when her shot from the left side hit the far post and then in the net. Her second goal made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute. with a little help from the wet conditions. The Hood keeper misplayed a through ball trying to dive for it, Elsaesser then gained possession, dribbled around and shot it into the empty net.

Macaulay Soto scored the other Messiah goal in the 36th minute when she received a centering pass from the end line and buried the opportunity into the left corner.

Leah Norris faced 35 shots and made eight saves to eclipse the 50 save mark for the season, and up her total to 57 on the year.

Hood could only manage one shot against the stout defense, allowing Audra Larson to not have to make a save throughout the game.

The Blazers look to get their first conference win this season when they travel to Albright College to face the Lions on October 12.
