Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College captured the first set, but Shenandoah rebounded to capture the next three non-conference women's volleyball action.
Set scores were 24-26, 25-14, 25-13 and 25-14.
An ace by Amy Hagerdon (Berryville, Va. / Clarke County) in the first set gave the Blazers a 16-13 lead, but the Hornets won the next six points to take a 19-16 advantage. Hood regrouped and a block by Rebecca Rieser (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) tied the score at 20-20. Shendoah led 24-23, but two kills by Hagerdon and an attack error by SU gave Hood the 26-24 win.
Hagerdon led all players with 15 points and 13 kills in the match. The senior also served up a pair of aces and had 11 digs. Allie Donoghue (Owings, Md. / Bishop McNamara) had eight kills and a block. Rieser had four kills and five blocks.
Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) handed out 18 assists. She also had two aces, nine digs and a block. Brenna Elizondo (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) had 10 assists. Keesha Fields (Willow Hill, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) notched 15 digs.
Haley Smith had 12 kills for the Hornets and Samantha Schamback added 11. Rachel Roberts tallied seven blocks.
Hood travels to Lycoming for a Commonwealth Conference tri-match on October 12 with Stevenson.
