GRANTHAM, Pa. - No. 13 Messiah proved too much for Hood to handle, as the Falcons defeated the Blazers 14-0 in Commonwealth Conference action.

Senior Ying Van Schaik (Easton, Md. / Gunston Day School) had a career-high 27 saves in her final collegiate contest. She surpassed her previous career-best of 19 saves, set earlier this year against Bryn Mawr. The 27 saves are the fifth most in school history and the most for a Blazer since Anne Marie Hantman tied the school record with 31 saves on October 2, 2009.

Van Schaik finishes her career with 326 stops, third most in school history. Her 186 saves this season are the fifth highest total in the school records.

The game also marked the final career contests for Madeline Birmingham (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn) and Rachel Gannon (Church Hill, Md. / Queen Anne's County). Birmingham finished the year with two goals and four defensive saves. Gannon added two assists to her career numbers this season to finish with four goals and five assists.

The Falcons scored eight goals in the first half and added six more in the final 35 minutes to remove any doubt. Megan Prall, Rachel Cox and Mattie Berger came off the bench to help the Messiah offense, combining for two goals and four assists.  Moriah Pfautz led all players with four goals.

Hood managed seven shots in the game, including three by Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) and two by Emily Richardson (Sykesville, Md. / Century).

Molly Gebrosky and Angela Klaczak each saw time in goal for Messiah. Klaczak made six saves in 48 minutes.
