Box Score

TOWSON, Md. - A goal in the 110th minute was the difference as the Hood women's soccer team lost in heartbreaking fashion against the Goucher Gophers, 1-0.

In the second overtime, Leah Norris (Bryans Road, Md. / Lackey) made a sensational save on the Gophers first shot of the period and turned away a breakaway in the 109th minute. But in the game's final minute, Gaby Davis placed a free kick into the upper right corner for the game-winner.

Eight of Goucher's 22 shots came during extra time, while all six Blazer shots were during regulation.

Both teams had chances to win the game in the final moments of the second half. The Blazers chance came in the 87th minute, but Angelia Miller's (Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) attempt was stopped by the keeper. In the 90th minute, Goucher's Stephanie Budrock had a shot off a corner, but it was turned aside by the defense.

Norris made eight saves in the effort to keep the game scoreless, while Juliana Harkavy made four saves to record the shutout.

Hood looks to get back in the win column when they face Marymount (Va.) on September 21 at 1 p.m.
