Blazers Stopped in Home Opener

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team dropped its home opener by a final of 8-0 to visiting Shenandoah.

The Hornets scored four goals in the first and added the same number in the second half to put the game away.

Ying Van Schaik played the first half in goal for the Blazers and stopped five shots. Kayla Knott entered in the second half and was credited with 13 saves. 

Sarah Clare stopped one shot in 56 minutes for Shenandoah before Katelyn Gregory came on in relief and finished the game in cage.

Lauren Mills scored two goals to lead SU.

Hood hosts Frostburg State on Thursday, September 5 at 5 p.m.
