Bobcats Topple Blazers

FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College trailed just 1-0 late in the first half, but two late goals by Frostburg State helped the Bobcats pull away and FSU went on to win 7-0.

Frostburg State scored in the sixth minute to take the lead, but the Blazer defense held firm after that for over 27 minutes. The Bobcats broke through twice after the 33rd minute and went into the break ahead 3-0.  

FSU pulled away with four second half goals. 

Three goalkeepers split time for Hood. Ying Van Schaik started and made five saves in the first half.  Kayla Knott started the second half and played just over 12 minutes before giving way to Jessica Sedgwick. In her collegiate debut, Sedgwick stopped three shots in 23 minutes.

Emily Richardson made a defensive save.

For Frostburg, Alexandra Darrow had two goals and an assist. Becky Randel dished out three assists and Katie Farr scored twice.

Hood will look to get into the win column on Saturday, September 7, when Sweet Briar visits Thomas Athletic Field.
