FREDERICK, Md. - Hayley Rogers ((Sandwich, Ill. / Brunswick (Md.)) had a Hood College season-high with six blocks, but the Blazers fell 3-0 to Gallaudet University.

Scores were 25-18, 25-16, and 25-19.

Addie Roop led the Blazers with eight kills, and Rogers added six. Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) helped the team with 13 assists and a service ace. Keesha Fields (Willow Hill, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) had 18 digs.

After the Bison controlled the first set, Hood trailed just 11-9 after a block from Rogers and Elizabeth Hawkesworth (Westminister, Md. / Winters Mill) in the second set. Kylene Etki served up two aces during a 9-0 run for Gallaudet to give the Bison a 20-9 lead.

In the third set, Hood hung with GU and a kill by Roop pulled Hood within a point, 20-19. Gallaudet regrouped and scored the last five points to seal the match. 

Julia Wolff had 11 kills and TraciAnn Hoglind added 37 assists for the Bison.

Hood takes on King's and Manhattanville at the MAC Crossover on October 4 at Arcadia.
