CHESTER, Pa. - Hood College fell 2-0 in a Commonwealth Conference contest at Widener University.

The Pride jumped to a 1-0 lead when Brittany Lavin scored with 10 minutes left in the first half. Laura Lokey (Millville, N.J. / Millville) had a shot in the 28th minute but it was blocked.

In the second half, the Blazers had another chance for a goal when Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) went for a shot in the 46th minute but was stopped by Widener. The Pride's Kayla Herr scored the final goal off a penalty stroke in the 55th minute to secure the win.

Jessica Sedgwick (Fairfield, Conn. / Cushing Academy) made three saves.  

Hood returns home for a conference game against Alvernia on October 11.
