WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - Three different swimmers won twice for Hood College, but it was not enough as Lycoming defeated the Blazers 148.5-113.5 in a Commonwealth Conference dual meet.
Cameron Rogers (Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) won two individual events, while Alex Bodine (Frederick, Md. / Urbana) and Dillon Marier (Dover, Del. / Dover) each had individual and relay victories to their credit.
Rogers continued his excellence in the distance freestyle events, winning both the 500 and the 1,000-yard events. Rogers' notched his first win in the 1,000 with a time of 10:16.16, over a minute faster than the next competitor. His time of 5:01.02 was good for the victory in the 500 by 18 seconds.
Bodine scored a win in the 100 back with a time of 56.07, while Marier won the 100 free in 50.38. Marier claimed third in the 50 free with a time of 22.87.
The duo teamed with Lucas Mestas-Nunez (Corpus Christi, Texas / Bluff) and Jonathan Collier (Darby, Pa. / Home Schooled) to win the day's final event, the 400 free relay in 3:25.48.
Chris Gardner (Smyrna, Del. / Cab Calloway School of the Arts) and BJ Daisey (Lewes, Del. / Sussex Tech) also won events for the Blazers. Gardner swam a 2:05.71 to win the 200 back, and Daisey had the winning time 1:03.37 in the 100 breast. The two sophomores added second place finishes to their day, as well. Gardner took second in the 200 free in 1:55.74, while Daisey was second in the 200 breast in 2:20.96, less than one second off the pace.
Mestas-Nunez finished third in two events. He swam a 1:57.40 in the 200 free and a 51.71 in the 100 free.
The Blazers will look to get back in the win column on November 8 with a quad at Messiah that includes FDU-Florham and Widener.
