Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Hood shut out its fourth opponent of the season with a 5-0 victory over visiting Bryn Mawr in the regular season finale.
Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) had her fourth multi-goal game of the year, tallying a pair of scores for the Blazers.
Hood opened the scoring off a corner in the 17th minute. Ashley Griffin (Hanover, Pa. / Delone Catholic) inserted the ball to Laura Lokey (Millville, N.J. / Millville), who drilled a hard strike into the left side of the cage.
Briscoe scored the Blazers' next two goals for a 3-0 lead at the half. At the end of the 23rd minute, Karina Stetsyuk (Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) pushed a pass to Briscoe, who finished for her first score and a 2-0 lead. Briscoe added her 14th goal of the year in the 31st minute. Shay Braithwaite (Montgomery Village, Md. / Watkins Mill) sent a hard pass from the right wing, outside the circle to the near post, where Briscoe was waiting.
After play resumed, Emily Richardson (Sykesville, Md. / Century) took a shot that was blocked by the Owl defense, but Alyssa Billeter (Damascus, Md. / Damascus) found the loose ball and made it a four-goal advantage. Shelby Amspacher (Havertown, Pa. / Archbishop Carroll) finished the scoring in the 51st minute. She took the ball off a restart, dribbled into the top of the circle, and backhanded a shot to the left post.
The goals for Lokey and Amspacher were their first of the year.
Alexa Rubano (Wallingford, Conn. / Lyman Hall) started in goal and made three saves in 44 minutes. Jessica Sedgwick (Fairfield, Conn. / Cushing Academy) played the next seven minutes, before Kayla Knott (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) finished off the shutout with 19 minutes.
The Blazers outshot Bryn Mawr 21-8 in the contest.
Alex Weinfeld made seven saves for the Owls in the losing effort.
Hood finishes the season with seven wins, the most for the team since 2005.
Briscoe's 14 goals and 30 points are the second most in a season for a Blazer.
