Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - Seniors Chris Cook (Mechanicsville, Va. / Lee-Davis) and Terell Buyck (Forestville, Md. / Bishop McNamara) combined for 46 points for Hood College, but the Lebanon Valley duo of Kevin Agnew and Andy Orr tallied 48 as the Dutchmen defeated the Blazers 69-59.
Cook hit 11-of-19 field goals and finished with 26 points, one off his career-high, and notched three steals. Buyck added 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. It was the fourth 20-plus point game of the year for Buyck and the third for Cook this season. On the glass, Trevor Magnuski (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) had a career-high 10 rebounds and was matched by Reggie Daniels (Abingdon, Md. / Patterson Mill) for team-high honors.
Agnew tied Cook for game-high honors with 26 points, sinking 8-of-17 from the field and all eight of his free throws. Orr added 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, and netted a double-double with 11 boards.
Layups by Magnuski, Buyck and Cook in the first two minutes gave the Blazers and early 6-2 advantage. Another bucket by Buyck gave Hood a 26-24 lead with 5:01 to go in the first half, but Orr tied the score 19 seconds later, starting an 8-0 run to end the half.
Hood pulled within a possession on several occasions in the second half, but the Dutchmen did not relinquish the lead. Cook got into the paint to cut the lead to 42-41 with 12:15 to play before an Agnew field goal stretched it back to three. A three-point play by Magnuski at 8:47 pulled the Blazers within 46-44 before Zach Mrozek sank a 3-point field goal on the other end to make it a five-point game.
Hood outscored the Dutchmen 34-32 in the paint, but LVC held a 21-8 edge in points off turnovers.
The Dutchmen improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Conference, while the Blazers fell to 1-4 and 0-2.
