Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CLERMONT, Fla. - On action of day two of the Dot Richardson Spring Games, Hood College split the matchups with a 3-2 win over Juniata College and dropped game two by score of 4-0 to Richard Stockton.

After the win, the Blazers improved to 4-3 and ended the day at 4-4.

Hood 3, Juniata 2

Hood got on the board early with a single run in the second inning to take the 1-0 lead. Jess Sedgwick (Fairfield, Conn. / Cushing Academy) led off the inning with a ground-rule double, and advanced to third on a sacrifice from Katie Jenkins (Duncannon, Pa. / Susquenita). Laura Lokey (Millville, N.J. / Millville) drove Sedgwick in with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Keerstie Robinson (Windsor, Pa. / Northeastern) kept the Eagles off the scoreboard until the fourth inning, when a couple of runners crossed the plate. After Paige Dennison reached on an error, Katie Schroeder ripped a triple down the right field line to tie the game. The next batter, Brooke Walls, reached on another error to score Schroeder. With a runner on third and one out, Robinson got the next two batters to ground out to end the threat.

Hood didnt wait long to tie up the score, doing so in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out rally. Lokey singled to center, and Roo Saglimbeni (Woodbine, Md. / Glenelg) doubled down the line in right to drive in the tying run. Saglimbeni advanced to third on the throw, but was stranded there to end the inning.

The Blazers scored in the next frame, taking the lead on Juniata's first error of the game. With one out, Amy Hagerdon (Berryville, Va. / Clarke County) and Carly Farr (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) hit back-to-back singles to set up the inning. Hagerdon was thrown out at third on a fielder's choice by Ashley Fourcade (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery). Once again, Sedgwick came up with the big contact, driving in Farr when the right fielder made the crucial error.

Robinson, who improved to 2-2, did not give up a hit through the final two innings and recorded two strikeouts to shut the door and earn the win. She finished with five strikeouts on the day and scattered four hits.

Farr and Saglimbeni led Hood each going 2-for-3, with Farr scoring once and Saglimbeni driving one in.

Richard Stockton 4, Hood 0

The Ospreys' Brittany Ksiezopolski held Hood to just a single by Hagerdon on the afternoon.

Savannah Riotte and Grace Long each homered for Stockton.

Jennifer Rutherford (Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville Area) took the loss.
