ARLINGTON, Va. - Hood College tied Marymount (Va.) in the Saints' home tournament, as the two squads played to a 1-1 final.

It appeared as though the teams would enter the half scoreless, but Chloe McAuliffe scored with just 44 seconds left in the opening period to send Marymount into the break ahead 1-0. Kristen Campbell was credited with the assist.

Early in the 52nd minute, the Blazers tied the score when Alyssa Nubgaard (Poolesville, Md. / Poolesville) ripped a shot past the keeper in her first career match. 

Both keepers had big saves during overtime action. Alexis Andrukat (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) stopped a shot in the 104th minute by Rachel Anderson. During the second overtime, Samantha Norris (Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) had a scoring chance turned away by Erin Harris.

Andrukat finished with five saves. Harris had eight for the Saints. 

Hood held a 14-9 advantage on shots. 

The Blazers wrap up play at the Marymount Invitational on Saturday, August 30 at 1 p.m. against McDaniel.
