FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's Alyssa Nubgaard (Poolesville, Md. / Poolesville) had a hand in all four goals to lead the team to a 4-1 victory over Cedar Crest College.

The freshman finished with two goals and two assists for six points in the victory. It was the most points in a match for a Blazer since teammate Samantha Norris (Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) had six points in a match in 2012.

Hood jumped to a quick lead in the first half when Nubgaard scored her first goal at 7:14. She picked up the ball on a breakaway near midfield and drilled the shot into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. 

Leading 1-0 at the half, the Blazers did not waste time stretching the lead, scoring a goal six minutes after play resumed. Jessie Herbert (Sykesville, Md. / Century) benefitted from Nubgaard's first assist for a 2-0 lead.

Just seven minutes later, Nubgaard scored her second goal when she chipped the ball over the keeper, with an assist from Norris.  Nubgaard's second assist came when Brittni Souder (Union Bridge, Md. / Walkersville) scored on a header in the 61st minute to make it a four-goal advantage. 

The Falcons got onto the scoreboard when Kelsey Snavely scored their lone goal in the 73rd minute.  

The Blazers outshot the Falcons 16-3 and Alexis Andrukat (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) tallied one save.  Cedar Crest's Kari Vanderslice had six saves.

Hood looks to add another win when the team takes on Rosemont College on September 16.
