Box Score 2 BALTIMORE, Md. - Hood College split a tri-match at Notre Dame (Md.), falling to the Gators in four sets before rebounding for a 3-0 victory against New Jersey City.
With the split, Hood sits at 3-7 after its first 10 matches.

Hood won the second set, but the Gators had eight blocks to control the net and won the match 25-21, 16-25, 25-16, 25-17.
In set two, the Blazers trailed 10-9 before closing the set with a 16-6 run for the win. A kill by Bethany Montague (Baltimore, Md. / Redeemer Classical Christian) knotted the score at 10 apiece and Hood still led just 13-12 before one of Kari Betson's (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) eight kills started a spree of seven straight points for the the Blazers.
Betson led Hood in kills and added nine digs and a block to her stat line. Brenna Elizondo (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) dished out 23 assists. Keesha Fields (Willow Hill, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) tied for the match-high with 14 digs and served up a pair of aces.
Marylu Ortiz had 14 kills for the Gators, and Grace Park added 11. Jaime Reyes led all players with 29 assists and Cleaya Antes notched 14 digs.
Hood 3, New Jersey City 0
Hood rebounded in its second match to defeat New Jersey City in straight sets, 25-23, 25-16 and 25-23.
The first set was a back and forth battle that ended on a kill by Hood's libero, Kelsey Ritner ().
Set two saw the Blazers jump ahead 8-2 after a service ace by Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane). Hood later scored six consecutive points to stretch the lead to 14-5 after back-to-back aces by Elizabeth Hawkesworth (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill).
In the third set, Hood trailed 23-22 after a Jade Medley kill, but Hayley Rogers (Sandwich, Ill. / Brunswick (Md.)) notched a kill to tie the score. After an ace by Addie Roop (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) gave the Blazers match point, Hood finished off the win with a block by Rogers and Ashley Park-Brouse (Myersville, Md. / Middletown).
Hawkesworth had seven kills and two aces to lead the Blazers. Jones notched a dozen assists and four aces. Ritner had nine digs.
Hood returns home to face Messiah on September 16.
