FREDERICK, Md. – Hood College's Alyssa Nubgaard (Poolesville, Md. / Poolesville) had the only goal for the Blazers in a 3-1 loss to Goucher.

The freshman scored after a free kick when the goalkeeper could not control the loose ball. Nubgaard shot to the far post for a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute.

Goucher got on the scoreboard in the 28th minute on a goal by Colleen McCawley. Gaby Davis sent a corner kick to the far post that McCawley deflected into the goal.

The second goal came from Davis herself at 38:03. Her unassisted goal came from a corner kick that bounced off Hood's defense into the net.

Stephanie Budrock scored the only goal of the second half at 60:38. The ball was misplayed and she collected the loose ball for the goal.

The Gophers outshot the Blazers 16-4 and Alexis Andrukat (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) tallied seven saves. Goucher's Juliana Karkavy tallied one save.

Hood looks to bounce back with another home game against Penn St.-Harrisburg on September 27.
