READING, Pa. - Hood College's Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) recorded a career-high 41 assists, the third most in school history, in a 3-1 win at Albright in Commonwealth Conference action.

Set scores were 25-16, 18-25, 25-7 and 25-18.

The win was Hood's third in a row. It was also the sixth win of the year for the Blazers, surpassing the total from all of last season.

Jones became the fifth player in school history to top 600 career assists in the match and moved into fourth place all-time at Hood. She turned in her first double-double of the season with 13 digs, served three aces and notched three blocks.

Ashley Park-Brouse (Myersville, Md. / Middletown) and Hayley Rogers (Sandwich, Ill. / Brunswick (Md.)) were the main beneficiaries of Jones' assists. Park-Brouse tied the team season-high with 12 kills, one more than Rogers. Park-Brouse hit a team season-high .455 in the match, with Rogers checking in at .333.

Rogers had five of the Blazers' 13 blocks on the evening. Elizabeth Hawkesworth (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) had a career-high 17 digs and Kari Betson (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) added 11.

Hood led 7-4 in the first set before two kills apiece by Park-Brouse, Hawkesworth and Addie Roop (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) fueled a 9-1 run. The run stretched the Blazer lead to 16-5 and Hood never led by fewer than eight the rest of the way.

Albright rebounded in the second set, leading by as many as five in the early going. The Blazers battled back and claimed a 16-15 lead after a kill by Gabriela Enriquez (Frederick, Md. / Frederick), but the Lions scored 10 of the next 12 points to take the set.

In the third set, Hood hit .520 (15-2-25) and had runs of nine and seven points. Rogers had two kills in each of the runs.

The Blazers fell behind 4-0 to begin the fourth set, but came back to take the lead for good on a service ace by Jones that made it 16-15.

Brandy Blimline led Albright with 12 kills.

Hood hosts Widener on September 30.
