Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Hood College volleyball team ran into a Lebanon Valley squad that got on a roll hitting, falling in three sets.
Scores were 25-11, 25-16 and 25-17.
The Dutchmen hit .462 in the match, committing just seven attack errors on the evening.
Gabriela Enriquez (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) and Kari Betson (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) tied for the team-lead with seven kills each. Enriquez led the team with eight digs, as well. Payton Belella (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) dished out 18 assists and Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) had two service aces.
LVC used runs midway through each set to pull away. Hood held leads of 3-1 and 4-3 early in the first set, but Lebanon Valley caught fire and closed the set with a 22-7 run. The Blazers again jumped out to the early lead in the second set, going ahead 9-8 before eight straight points by the Dutchmen made it 16-9. A kill by Betson in the third set gave the Blazers an 8-6 advantage, but Lebanon Valley again scored eight unanswered points to take control.
For LVC, Greta Weidemoyer had 16 kills and Allie Quirk added 10 without an attack error. Rachel Moltz was credited with 26 assists. Emily Sides added nine digs.
The Blazers, 11-11 overall and 2-5 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth, travel to Gwynedd Mercy for a tri-match featuring Trinity Washington on October 17.
