CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College women's soccer team allowed just four shots on goal, but fell at Widener, 1-0, in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

The two sides battled through a scoreless first half before Katie Mindnich found the back of the net in the 49th minute. The Blazers allowed just a single shot on net after that, but were unable to generate an equalizer.

Hood had a pair of shots after the Pride took the lead, but an attempt by Carley Pappas (Egg Harbor Township, N.J. / Egg Harbor Township) sailed high and another by Sarah Marcello (Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) went wide. 

Rachel Knoebel (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) made three saves for Hood.

The Blazers host Alvernia on October 21 at 4 p.m.
