Field Hockey Closes Out Season at No. 17 Messiah

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College field hockey team closed out its season at No. 17 Messiah, falling 7-0 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest.

Hailey Poisal (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) made 15 saves in the game for the Blazers. Jayden Barrick (Newport, Pa. / Newport), Ashley Griffin (Littlestown, Pa. / Delone Catholic) and Mylen Perez-Pena (Frederick, Md. / -) each had defensive saves.

For Messiah, Carissa Gehman scored both of her goals in the game's first two minutes. Taylor Holt had two goals and an assist. Emily Schilinger scored a goal and assisted on another. Ally Morget and Mattie Berger each scored once. 

Barrick finishes the year with 15 defensive saves, the third highest total in the Hood record book and the most since Rachel Gauza's school record of 23 in 2003. She also moved into a tie for third in Division III this year. Poisal ends the season with 210 saves, the most in a year for a Blazer since 2003 (Cheryl Banks, 254).
