Box Score 2 ROSEMONT, Pa. - The Hood College volleyball set the school record for wins in a season by reaching the 20-win plateau with a pair of three-set victories over Rosemont and City College of New York.
The Blazers defeated the Ravens 25-19, 25-11, 25-20. Against the Beavers, Hood won 25-10, 25-7, 25-14.
Hood surpassed the school record of 19 wins, set during the 2000 season.
Payton Belella (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) became the first Blazer to reach 1,000 assists in a season, dishing out a total of 50 on the afternoon. Elena Young (Hagerstown, Md. / South Hagerstown) had 22 kills and hit .500 for they day.

Belella crossed the 1,000-assist barrier as Hood swept the host Ravens.
She finished the match with 29 assists and three aces, while Young had seven kills and just one error in 13 attacks. Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) added six kills and eight digs.
The Blazers hit .241 in the match, while holding Rosemont to just .071.
For Rosemont, Morgan Rollins had nine kills. Sabrinia Heggan dished out 17 assists. Nadirah Anderson had two aces and three blocks.
HOOD 3, CCNY 0
Hood hit for the third-highest percentage in school history as the Blazers set the school record for wins.
For the match, Hood hit .435 with 38 kills and just eight errors in 69 attempts. Young had 15 kills and hit .522. Courtney Hutchinson (Burtonsville, Md. / Blake) hit 7-of-11 without an error (.636). Jones, who also had four aces and seven digs, hit .417 with six kills and just an error.
Belella had 21 assists before Anyssa Greene (Falling Waters, W.Va. / Spring Mills) came off the bench for a career-high 13 assists.
Pui-Yan Yu had four kills for the Beavers. Cassidy Iannariello dished out 10 assists.
Hood now heads to Widener for the first round of the Middle Atlantic Conference Tournament on Monday, November 2 at 7 p.m.
