FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team fell to Albright in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action 8-1.

The Blazers scored in the 66th minute when Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md./ Long Reach) shot the ball into traffic in front of the box. After a scrum for the ball, Alysa Billeter (Damascus, Md./ Damascus) emerged with possession and scored.

Hailey Poisal (Westminster, Md./ Westminster) started in goal for Hood and recorded 14 saves. Jayden Barrick (Newport, Pa. / Newport) had one defensive save.

The Lions' offense was led by Amanda Smith, who scored three goals and added one assist on the day. Albright also had two goals from Tracy Snyder, and one goal each from Annette Helmandollar, Kasey Neiderer, and Amanda Long.

Albright had two assists from Mackenzie Faight and one from Caroline Winterie.

Aileen Taylor started the game in goal for the Lions and recorded one save in 35 minutes of action. Alicia Moore started the second half and played the next 21 minutes. Julia Pevarnik closed the game for Albright in goal, playing the final 11 minutes.

The Blazers look to get into the win column on October 15 when they travel to Swarthmore College. The game is slated to start at 4 p.m.
