BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Hood College's Heather Silveira (Baltimore, Md. / Chesapeake) shattered the school record on her way to the 60-meter hurdle championship at the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lehigh University's Rausch Field House.
The senior's time of 9.54 earned first team all-conference honors and topped her previous school record of 9.67 seconds, set at last year's championships. In the process, she became the first Blazer woman to win a conference crown since Jessica Parrish at the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

The freshman's biggest scores came in the penthatlon's 60 hurdles (10.12 seconds, 690 points) and the 800 (2:44.34, 524).
In the shot put, Samantha Bailey (Shelton, Conn. / Shelton) finished seventh with a mark of 36-1 1/2 (11.01 meters). Silveira also had a seventh place finish, running a 1:04.32 in the 400.
