CLERMONT, Fla. - Hood fell to both Haverford and Fontbonne on the Blazers' trip to Florida on spring break.

FONTBONNE 2, HOOD 0 

Hood's Sophia Leaman (Mount Joy, Pa. / Donegal) and Fontbonne's Lindsey Schaefer were locked in a pitching duel, but Schaefer was just a little better as the Blazers fell 2-0.

Leaman threw a complete game, scattered five hits and four walks, while allowing just two runs. She struck out three. 

Schaefer, meanwhile, limited Hood to just a pair of base hits and struck out four over six innings. 

Jess Sedgwick (Fairfield, Conn. / Cushing Academy) and Kelsey Ritner (Barnegat, N.J. / Barnegat) had hits for the Blazers. 

The Griffins scored once in the second and again in the third. Sam Brown knocked in a run with a single in the second inning. In the third, Danni Glixman tripled and scored on an error.

HAVERFORD 9, HOOD 2

Kaylee Krietz (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) continued her hot hitting with three hits, but Haverford scored eight times in the first three innings and went on to win 9-2.

Dayle Comerford had a three-hit game for the Fords and knocked in three runs. Kristin Tatum drove in a pair. Jessica Koshinski and Sarah Brody each scored three times. 

In addition to her three hits, Krietz scored one of Hood's runs and drove in the other. Kristen Scott (Rockville, Md. / Walter Johnson) doubled and knocked in a run. Kristy Erfurdt (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) scored once.

Sara Tauriello allowed just six hits and a walk in a complete game, striking out six.

Kayli Paugh (Elkridge, Md. / Howard) took the loss. She allowed five earned runs in the complete game outing.

Hood wraps up its spring trip with games against Sage and Penn State Behrend on Friday, March 13.
