FREDERICK, Md. - Hood fell twice to visiting Gettysburg, 10-1 and 11-0.

GETTYSBURG 10, HOOD 1 (6 INNINGS)

Gettysburg scored five runs in the sixth inning to end the game early. 

The Bullets scored twice in the first, but Hood got a run back in the second on an RBI groundout by Melissa Canulli (Hummelstown, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) to make it 2-1. Ashley Fourcade (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery), who walked earlier in the inning, scored. 

Jamie Abell had a two-run homer in the sixth to cap the scoring. Abell and Steph Zengel had three hits each for Gettysburg. 

Lindsey Treanor scattered two hits and three walks over six innings. 

Kayli Paugh (Elkridge, Md. / Howard) pitched the first five innings for the Blazers and took the loss. 

GETTYSBURG 11, HOOD 0

Gettysburg used a five-run inning in the fifth to end game two early. 

Kristy Erfurdt (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) had the lone hit for the Blazers. Sophia Leaman (Mount Joy, Pa. / Donegal), Paugh and Cady Baer (Frederick, Md. / Catoctin) each walked. 

Abell had a three-run homer in the fifth. Zengel went 4-for-4 and Wendy Folfas was 3-for-3.

Aileen Reilly gave up just one hit in five innings. 

Leaman threw a complete game, but took the loss.

Hood hosts Stevenson in a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader on April 8.
