SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Hood College's Heather Silveira (Baltimore, Md. / Chesapeake) set her second school record of the meet with her performance in the 400-meter hurdles at the ECAC Championships hosted by Springfield College.
The senior ran a time of 1:05.49, breaking her own record of 1:05.96 set at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships earlier in May. On the first day of the ECAC Championships, she turned in a 15.42 in the 100-meter hurdles to set a new school record in that event.
Silveira was 16th in the 400 hurdles.
Jackie Mangogna (Kings Park, N.Y. / Kings Park) wrapped up action in the heptathlon, with a personal best score of 3,425. In the final day's first event, she long jumped 15-11 1/2 (4.86m) to score 522 points. After scoring 281 points in the javelin with a throw of 64-2 (19.56m), she closed out the multi-event with an 800-meter run of 2:42.35 to score 546 points. Mangogna placed 15th.
